On November 2, 2020, the DaSCH was founded as a long-term association. With the now completed foundation of the association, a new era in the tasks of the DaSCH was initiated.
The Data and Service Center for the Humanities (DaSCH) has already guaranteed the long-term preservation and availability of research data in the humanities as a digital infrastructure for 6 years. In this initial phase, the DaSCH was an enterprise of the Swiss Academy of Humanities (SAGW).
As one of the central digital repositories, the association will be responsible for the national provision of qualitative research data in the humanities on behalf of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). The DaSCH also represents Switzerland in DARIAH-EU. A corresponding application for membership was approved by the General Assembly of DARIAH-EU. Switzerland will thus be a member of this important network with Observer Status from February 1, 2021.
In addition to the SNSF, DaSCH is substantially supported by the Universities of Basel and Lausanne.
