The DSP Permissions System

The DSP Permissions System

DaSCH helps researchers configure appropriate visibility settings for data before publication.

Each resource (and each property) can have one of these permissions:

  • public: visible for everyone
  • limited view (for images only): visible for everyone, but images are watermarked or have reduced resolution for users not part of the project
  • private: only visible for logged-in project members

Project Visibility Models

When crafting a data model, researchers can choose:

  • Public project: All resource classes and properties are public.
  • Partially private project: Most resource classes and properties are public, but some can be marked as private or limited view.
  • Private project: All resource classes and properties are private.
    • This is only possible during active project work or during a limited embargo period. Long-term, data must become primarily public.

Configuring Permissions

Contact DaSCH to configure project permissions. DaSCH collaborates with researchers to establish appropriate access levels based on project needs and requirements.

When research projects end, permissions are typically set to public to ensure research data is accessible to the broader community.
