DaSCH is partnering with SWISSUbase to offer humanities researchers a new complementary option for data archiving. The new service, SWISSUbase for Humanities, is designed for small datasets (up to 10 files / 1 GB) and supports limited preservation for at least 10 years. It enables a streamlined deposit process with a simpler metadata schema for humanities research.
For larger or more complex datasets, or for projects requiring advanced metadata and long-term preservation, the DaSCH Service Platform (DSP) remains the recommended solution with continuous public access and data display.
SWISSUbase for Humanities is now entering its pilot phase (October 2025 – March 2026). The DaSCH Data Service Unit is seeking five humanities research projects to test the new workflow for depositing research data and making it publicly available on SWISSUbase for Humanities, with feedback by end of February 2026. A prerequisite for participation is metadata and data in a form that is ready for deposit and publication (the research data will be deposited and published on SWISSUbase for Humanities).
Researchers are invited to consult the Comparison Table to verify eligibility and requirements for participation. Interested teams can contact: info-swissubase@dasch.swiss
