22. How are my archived data displayed on the platform?
Your research data is directly displayed on the DaSCH Service Platform (DSP) in a structured, browsable format. Each resource — whether text, image, audio, or video — is rendered with its associated metadata, making it immediately accessible, searchable, and citable. You do not need any additional software to view your data; it is presented through a web-based interface that supports exploration and navigation across your entire dataset. Every resource receives a persistent ARK identifier, so individual items can be referenced and cited directly.
For information on how to embed your data on an external website, see our FAQ on displaying data on a website.

23. Does DaSCH support IIIF for image display?
Yes. DaSCH fully supports the International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF) for displaying images. All uploaded images (TIFF, JPEG, JP2, PNG) are served through a IIIF-compliant image server, enabling high-resolution deep zoom, region selection, and standardized image delivery. This means your images can also be embedded in external IIIF-compatible viewers such as Mirador or Universal Viewer, supporting interoperability with other digital humanities projects and institutions.

24. Can audio and video media be played on the platform?
Yes. The DSP platform supports in-browser playback of audio files (MP3, WAV) and video files (MP4). Media files are displayed alongside their metadata, allowing users to listen to or watch recordings directly on the platform without downloading. This makes multimedia research data immediately accessible for browsing, citation, and reuse.

25. Is there a preview function for archived files?
On the DSP platform, your data is displayed directly rather than requiring a separate preview step. When you navigate to a resource, its content is rendered inline — images are shown via the IIIF viewer, audio and video play in-browser, and structured data is displayed with its full metadata. This means there is no distinction between "preview" and "full view"; your data is always presented in its complete, accessible form.
